Contact Lens Abstract
A method and means of providing an improved refractive correction contact lens which increases user comfort, retards protein and lipid deposition, and can be utilized for pharmaceutical delivery. The invention discloses a technique for creating polymer fibril diameters and spacing that duplicates the optical transmission and diffusion characteristics of natural corneal collagen.

Contact lens molds and systems and methods for producing same
Contact Lens Abstract
Contact lens molds and systems and methods for producing contact lens molds are described. The contact lens mold sections include two optical quality surfaces, a flange circumscribing at least a portion of the two optical quality surfaces, and an elongate member extending from the flange. Two mold sections can contact one another to form a mold assembly having a contact lens shaped cavity. The mold sections are structured to form a contact lens having an edge that does not require further physical modification before placement on an eye. Systems and methods are described which direct a molten polymeric material into cavities corresponding to the mold sections.

Hybrid contact lens system and method
Contact Lens Abstract
A hybrid contact lens comprises a central zone comprising a substantially rigid, gas permeable material having a DK of at least 30, a relatively soft peripheral zone and an intermediate zone comprising a film or coating that is created around the central zone, and then cured. The film facilitates chemical bonding between the central zone and the peripheral zone, and also provides a protective barrier to prevent modification of the physical characteristics of the central zone. The film may be created by soaking the central zone in a chemical solution for a predetermined amount of soaking time.

Contact lens
Contact Lens Abstract
A contact lens excellent in optical property, offering favorable feeling during the use thereof, and capable of continuous uses, which is composed of a hard portion in the central part and a soft portion in the periphery of the central part is provided. The contact lens comprising two kinds of polymers and having a hard portion arranged in the central part thereof and a soft portion arranged in the periphery of the central part, wherein a monomer mixture forming the hard portion contains at least one silicone-containing monomer, and the monomer mixture forming the hard portion and a monomer mixture forming the soft portion each contain at least one common hydrophilic monomer.

Contact lens and methods of manufacture and fitting such lenses and computer program product
Contact Lens Abstract
The invention is directed to a contact lens design and methods of manufacturing, fitting and using such lenses. The contact lens may be designed for use in a corneal refractive therapy (CRT) program. The lens provides a design which allows proper fitting of a patient, whether for corrective contact lenses or for a CRT program. Due to the rational design of the lenses according to the present invention, a minimal number of lens parameter increments can be identified to cover the range of common corneas. It is therefore possible to provide pre-formed lens buttons or blanks which are easily formed into a final design, thereby simplifying and speeding up the treatment process. Further, any adjustment of the lens design which may be required based upon trial fitting or the like, is easily envisioned and implemented by the fitter. (more contact lenses…)
